Who is behind The Indian Angle?

Shachi, an IT consultant by profession and the independent producer of the show, created the show as a creative exercise to create a platform for South Asian Diasporas to connect with each other.

Why The Indian Angle?

We South Asians, once we settle in our adopted home, function like rest of the population. We work, start companies or become a boss. Or, we go to school, or send our children to school, get together with friends or travel, but whatever we do, we do it with The Indian Angle.

Whether it’s saving more than spending, or spending our hard earned money on education, or buying reliable rather than fancy car, it reflects our upbringing, our culture, our roots. It shows that even when we are integral part of the society we are distinct. In a good way! And that is the Indian Angle that is share by all of us and connects all of us.

The Indian Angle highlights the subjects that are important to us as human beings, as intellectuals, as conscious community members, as parents, as professionals, and above all, as homesick immigrants.

Antara is an independent filmmaker, a Kathak dancer trained under Pandit Chitresh Das, a dancer with the Chitresh Das Dance Company, and a teacher with the Chhandam School of Kathak.
